Siamese Cat Breed Profile

Temperament: Siamese have very strong personalities, they demand a lot of attention and dislike being left alone, but give a lot in return.

Care: Weekly grooming is needed to remove dead hair and prevent tangles and matting.

General Information: The Siamese is distinguished from other breeds by its beautiful blue eyes, (the deeper and more vivid the better). All Siamese are colorpoint cats, they are pure white at birth and the colorpoints begin to appear as they mature. Color points are located on the ears, face, top paws and tail.

The Siamese cat is slender and graceful. They have a medium sized body, long with strong muscles and fine bones. The legs are long and slender. The coat is always shorthaired.

The Siamese cat is a smart and loveable pet. He is a people person and expects plenty of affection and attention. While this breed is a good companion, he can also frustrate his master with his antics. He dislikes to be left alone and will get into trouble if lonely, causing you a headache when you return.

The manner in which the Siamese communicates is legendary, a female cat in season can be heard over distance and she sounds like a human baby crying.
