American Eskimo Dog Breed Profile
General Appearance: The American Eskimo’s beautiful white dogs that come in three varieties toy, miniature and standard. The muzzle is wedge shaped and it has a mane around its neck.
Origin: Germany in the 18th century
Temperament: American Eskimos are affectionate, alert, energetic, trainable and intelligent. They are protective of their home and family while being weary of strangers, although it does not threaten to bite or attack people. This breed is an excellent watchdog and will bark at the presence of strangers approaching. It is best for them to be socialized when young.
Height: Males 12-19 inches and females 11-18 inches
Weight: 10-35 lbs depending upon toy, standard or miniature breed

Life Span: 12-15 years
Health Conditions/Concerns: Their coat should be kept flea free, which will prevent dermatitis.
