General Appearance: Boxer colors are fawn and brindle with white markings, they have short and smooth coats that lie close to the body. Boxers require minimal grooming.

Breed Characteristics: The boxer is renowned from olden times for his great love and faithfulness to his master and household, his alertness, and fearless courage as a defender and protector. They are docile but distrustful of strangers, bright and friendly in play but brave and determined when roused.

Origin: Germany in the 19th Century

Temperament: The Boxer is an active, energetic, attentive and courageous guardian with alert behavior. A firm hand may be required to modify its playful, robust behavior.

Classification: Molossians and Swiss Mountain - Pinscher and Schnauzer and Cattledogs

Height: Males range from 22-25 inches and females range from 21-23 inches

Weight: Typically 66 lbs for a male and 62 lbs for a female

Size: Large

Life Span: 8-10 years

Health Conditions/Concerns: The boxer is susceptible to hip dysplasia, cancer (in older dogs), allergies and heart problems

Good with Children: Gentle and patient with children

Good with other Pets: For the most part they behave well with other household pets, but they are cautious with strange pets and people, which make them good guard dogs.
