General Appearance: The Maltese has a compact and petite body of small size. Covered by a very long white coat, very elegant with a white silky coat. Maltese are well built with a jaunty, flowing gait.

Temperament: The Maltese is a gentle and sweet breed, but may be reserved with strangers. His trust and affectionate responsiveness are very appealing. He is among the gentlest mannered of all little dogs, yet he is lively and playful.

Health Conditions/Concerns: Maltese are susceptible to eye problems and patellar luxation.
