General Appearance: Newfoundland’s are typically brown, black, gray or black/white. They have an oily, water resistant double coat. The outer coat is straight or slightly wavy and the undercoat is dense and wooly.

Origin: Canada

Temperament: Patient, sweet, loving and generous; this breed is devoted to his family. Suspicious of strangers and unfamiliar faces, the Newfoundland makes an excellent watchdog.

Height: Males range from 27-29 inches and females range from 25-27 inches

Weight: Males range from 130-150 lbs and females range from 100-120 lbs

Size: Extra Large

Life Span: 8-10 years

Health Conditions/Concerns: Newfoundland’s are susceptible to hip dysplasia and hereditary heart disease.
