Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals is an in-depth book dedicated to an all-natural approach to your animal's health. Kristen Leigh Bell, the author, is a certified Aromatherapist who has been working with pet aromatherapy specifically for the past ten years. If you are seeking to understand the benefits and use of pet aromatherapy, I highly recommend this book.
Included in this book are tried and true recipes Bell has created over the course of her career to make all-natural products for animals. The recipes contained are for use on canines, felines - even hamsters and birds.
Not only does it give you the recipes to make these from your very own kitchen, but it also supplies you with the knowledge and understanding of which essential oils to use and which to avoid. This book allows you to fully understand the use of pet aromatherapy so that you can provide your pets with an optimal, healthy approach to life.
In creating Indulge Your Pet, I have done a lot of research regarding pet aromatherapy. Holistic Aromatherapy for Animals is the first book I've seen that has in-depth explanations and is easy to understand and implement.
While canine aromatherapy is gaining popularity and becoming more common, feline aromatherapy isn't as widely known or practiced. Through a series of case studies, toxicology reports and veterinary research, this book unravels the mystery of essential oil and hydrosol use with cats, presenting information that is informative and safe to use.
Also included in the book are chapters dedicated to how essential oils are extracted, the most common essential oils and their colors, along with their smells and descriptions.
The last chapter of the book is dedicated to suppliers who produce pet aromatherapy for wholesale and retail, and reputable suppliers for purchasing the supplies needed to create these recipes at home. I found this book to be an excellent resource and highly recommend it.
