Buying Wholesale Dog Treats

Baking your own dog treats is not the only way to own and operate your own dog bakery! If you dislike baking or found out that you cannot bake from your own kitchen, don’t get discouraged just yet! You do still have a few options available to you.

Dog Treats - Option 1: Buying Dog Treats Wholesale
You can view our pet directory to find wholesalers or you can do a search on Google or Yahoo! and find hundreds of dog bakeries that offer their treats to other dog bakery owners at wholesale cost. In most cases you will have to supply them with your tax ID number before they will let you order wholesale, so you will still need to be a registered business.

Dog Treats - Option 2: Private Label Dog Treats
Along with wholesale, many companies will also let you private label their dog treats. This means you can buy their dog treats at wholesale prices - the difference is that you can put “your business name” on the labels and promote them as your own dog treats. Most times you do have to list them as the manufacturer but that is not a big deal. The benefit to wholesale/private label treats is the company has already had the guaranteed analysis done on the dog treats.

Dog Treats - Option 3: Drop Shipping
Drop shipping simply means that you are still charged wholesale prices for the dog treats but the original company will send the dog treats out for you. There may be a handling fee along with the product charges, usually minimal.

With dropshipping, one con is that you will be unable to personalize the shipment and your customer will know they were sent by a third party. This may not be a problem and can still work, just something for you to consider.
